Abstract
LingoTalk is a speech therapy app that provides self-training in oral word production. Automatic speech recognition evaluates the correctness and intelligibility of what is said and provides objective feedback. This can increase the frequency of therapy and strengthen the effectiveness of speech therapy treatment. In a single case study, we evaluated the implementation and effectiveness of supervised high-frequency self-training with LingoTalk in chronic aphasia after stroke. It is shown that a three-week training programme brings about demonstrable and sustained improvements in oral word production for practiced and unpracticed terms and has lasting positive effects on spontaneous speech.
