Abstract
Analyzing power system performance with respect to voltage sags is important for planning and operation. This paper performed a stochastic analysis taking into account the probabilistic characteristic of both fault type and fault impedance to the area of vulnerability (AoV) by using Monte Carlo method. The analysis was applied to the Philippine Luzon Grid. As a result, a more realistic AoV with less severe sags are predicted compared to the usual case where only bolted fault and a single fault type is considered.
