Abstract

Digital systems employing antenna diversity and noncoherent binary frequency-shift-keying modulation operating through an indoor radio multipath Rayleigh fading channel are investigated theoretically. The diversity technique of equal gain combining is considered. The frequency-hopping rate is assumed to be equal to the bit rate. Results show that the FFH systems are better able to counteract multipath fading than direct sequence systems, which, however, perform better in the presence of multiaccess interference, provided that diversity is used.<>
