The capacity value estimation methods are discussed briefly, followed by a discussion of the factors that may affect the capacity value of solar resources. The methodology explained here is applicable to any renewable generation. However, the focus of the discussion is on the factors that affect the capacity value of solar resources. Also, the impact of input data on the solar capacity value is included.
