Abstract

The chapter details Jane’s attempts to recover from Roger Barrett’s death by occupying herself with stock theater appearances and her only Broadway show as Elaine Stritch’s replacement in Stephen Sondheim’s Company. Also discussed is Jane’s pet-project, an apartment complex in Van Nuys called Taos West and her involvement with Playtex as their spokesperson. Also included is a controversial interview with Jane that appeared in Esquire, along with Jane’s third marriage to John Peoples.
