Multi Frequency Broadband Circularly Polarized Archimedean Spiral Slot Antenna with Spiral DGS Structure for 5G Application

Abstract

This paper presents a miniaturized uniplanar multifrequency broadband circularly polarized Archimedean spiral slot antenna for 5G, WLAN and WiMAX applications. The structure consists of a circular patch antenna with spiral slots in it. An Archimedean spiral slot is embedded in this structure and the ground plane consists of two spiral DGS along with multiple spiral slots. The whole structure is feed using a microstrip line feed making the whole structure a uniplanar structure. The antenna has a bandwidth ranging from 3.12 GHz – 3.98 GHz or 25.29%, 4.76 GHz – 6.93 GHz or 39.31% and 10.78 GHz – 11.88 GHz or 9.9% and an axial ratio bandwidth ranging from 5.52 GHz – 5.94 GHz or 11.1% and 8.91GHz – 9.62GHz or 8%.the proposed antenna structure has an overall good gain and an omnidirectional radiation pattern in the C band.
