So, many studies of related topologies have been carried out to address the issues of traditional Y-source inverter (YSI). There are always dc-link voltage spikes which come from the leakage inductances of the coupled inductors in YSIs. Therefore, this paper proposed a modified topology of Y-source inverter to solve the problems by adding additional circuit to absorb the leakage energy. And it inherits all the advantages of the original YSIs and have better performance. The simulation based on the PLECS platform has been carried out with in-depth analysis.
