Abstract

A loaded antipodal linear tapered slot antenna (ALTSA) with a diamond-shaped slot is presented. The feed system is implemented using a substrate integrated waveguide (SIW), tapered microstrip-to-SIW transition and a horn-shaped via. The proposed antenna exhibits a return loss better than 18 dB over the band of interest (50-70 GHz) with a gain of 16.2 dB at the center frequency. The overall efficiency is 94%.
