[Psychosocial problems in the aged--nursing interventions].

Abstract

This article deals with age-related problems, due to social structure and several other factors. Loneliness, confusion, and dementia of the aged, when they co-exist with acute disease, are often reversible. When they happen independently create serious psychosocial problems, and gradually become irreversible. Appropriate nursing interventions for the prevention, control and correction of these geriatric problems are described.
