Abstract

This paper presents a biosensor based on photonic crystal fiber and surface plasmon resonance. The plasmonic metal and the sample are placed outside the fiber to enhance the sensitivity. The presented biosensor numerically exhibits the maximum wavelength sensitivity of 19,000 nm/RIU and 7000 nm/RIU for $y$- and $x$- polarization, respectively.
