Abstract

The article tries to assess modern territorial structure of the Russian Federation and compare the proposed division into economic regions and future macro-regions with the existing scheme of federal districts. The features of current and proposed economic zoning based on Spatial development strategy of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2025 are disclosed.
