Abstract
Gamma radiation effects on bismuth/erbium co-doped fibre and bismuth/erbium/ytter-bium co-doped fibre have been investigated and compared. We found co-doping Yb enhanced the pump absorption and accelerated the formation of new BAC-Si by $\gamma$ radiation.
