Scaling DoD logistics support analysis records technology to meet manufacturing requirements

Abstract

This paper examines the current business environment as it pertains to logistics support analysis for the small manufacturer, and discuss alternatives to integrating Department of Defense Logistics Support Analysis technology into the small manufacturing environment using the MIL-STD-1388-2B Logistics Support Analysis Record database structure as a foundation. The paper defines the problems, discusses alternatives, defines problems and advantages of integrating this Logistics Support Analysis Record technology, and moves toward defining a preferred solution. The paper defines the 'right-sized' Logistics Support Analysis Record needs, establishes the requirements, and examines methods to maximize the use of currently available technology.
