Abstract
Lockheed Martin Information Systems has developed a re-configurable, open-architecture, commercial automated test system that incorporates an innovative approach to total system support. This new tester, LM-STAR, operates in either a legacy ATLAS or in a factory oriented Lab-Windows/CVI environment. CASS and RTCASS compliant, the core system provides a low-cost approach to both factory and depot test environments, for both military and commercial users. By its inherent design, it is easily re-configurable to meet the test requirements of today's, and tomorrow's, weapon systems. Supportability has been integral to the design of the LM-STAR Automated Test System and LM-STAR Design-for-Supportability has driven unique approaches to meeting a low-cost solution. To achieve the supportability requirements, the LM-STAR Support Web was the born.
