This paper presents design, analysis and experimental results of solar charge controller for electric golf cart. The developed charge controller operates on maximum power point tracking algorithm. The system comprising of charger and PV panel is self-sufficient to charge the battery of the vehicle and besides this, the surplus power generated can also be utilized for feeding the DC load like DC bulbs, DC fans etc. The system is based on an intelligent embedded algorithm which aims at utilizing maximum power from solar generation.
