Abstract

A system composed of a feeding body of revolution (BOR) and parasitic BORs surrounding the feeding BOR is investigated for operation as a beam-steerable antenna. The system is called the BOR-BORs antenna. The parasitic BORs, each with an on-off switching circuit connected between the BOR bottom end and the ground plane, are indirectly excited by the feeding BOR. Investigation of the feeding BOR reveals that it radiates a conical beam.
