Abstract In this commentary on Lokhandwala and Westefeld's provocative article, I provide alternative perspectives to several of their points. Specifically, I review what I believe to be some of the meta-issues involved, examine a few of the particular points raised by the authors, and then discuss concerns with the research often cited to question the possibility of rational suicide.
