Abstract

This paper proposes an outer rotor and spoke-type permanent magnet synchronous motor (outer rotor spoke-type PMSM) to increase the power density compared to the inner rotor spoke-type permanent magnet synchronous motor(inner rotor spoke-type PMSM) used in washing machines. In order to investigate the output characteristics of the Outer Rotor Spoke-type PMSM, comparison and analysis were conducted on three models of 16-poles/9-slots, 20-pole/9-slots and 22-poles/9-slots.
