Abstract

In purpose of solving the problems on saving energy, resisting acoustic resonance and enhancing reliability in HID lamp ballasts, this paper addresses a novel centralized HID ballast system with power-bus. The system utilizes a central converter to convert the mains voltage to a particular waveform in power-bus, and then with the power-bus, simplified ballasts can be driven in parallel.
