The fan-shaped magnetic dipole of 270° and a V-shape open loop is employed to achieve a wide 3-dB AR beam width within the whole elevation plane. Then, quantitative relation between the thickness of the open loop and the value of δ (which means leading phase between the different arms of the loop) is accomplished and the fitted equation is also presented. According to this, preliminary design of antenna is accomplished. Abstract
Conceptual design of planar wide beam circularly polarized (CP) antennas with end fire radiation is proposed.
