Abstract

This study aimed to describe the predictability of self-esteem on the Motivation towards learning among students in the upper elementary grades in the Latin Patriarchate schools in Jordan. The sample of the study consisted of (338) students from the Latin Patriarchate schools in Jordan for the academic year 2019/2020.To achieve the purposes of the study, the researcher developed two measures were used for the purposes of this study, Motivation scale, prepared by (Corpus, Iyengar,, Lipper, 2005) from its original version originally prepared by Harter (Harter, 1980,1981), self-esteem scale (Echelle Toulousaine d'Estime de Soi) prepared by (Oubrayrie, N., de Léonardis, M. et Safont-Mottay, C. 1994). The results of the study showed that the level of motivation was high and the level of self-esteem was medium among the sample of the study, and the results also showed a positive correlation between self-esteem and the motivation among the sample of the study. The main recommendation of this study is to conduct more studies about the relationship between Self-esteem and motivation towards learning.
