From a Database Management System to a Policy-Based Network Management System

Abstract

This paper proposes a simple and low cost implementation framework for a policy-based network management (PBNM) system. The framework consists of reusing traditional network management system resources, specifying network management policies through the database language SQL, and designing a management database. It supports automatic network management policy processing. Finally, we used a simple example to test and verify our framework.
