Abstract

The paper introduces the Personal Access Communications System (PACS) as one of the most promising new PCS technologies available today. In particular, the features and functions of PACS-based PCS network are discussed. The PACS-based system distinguishes itself from other low tier options such as DECT and PHS by its lower delay, higher capacity, better receiver sensitivity, improved system broadcast capability, and improved mobility.
