The examination of an alternative method for reinstatement in rural areas

Abstract

Traditional reinstatement is often prohibitively expensive in rural areas where parcel sizes are large, and there are often few original marks. Simple least squares adjustment of original boundary dimensions is not sufficiently accurate to provide an alternative, although it may be possible to improve this with constraints of various types.
