Abstract

The results of an experimental research of the attenuation of a signal in the X-band of frequency range when passing through a forest environment are presented. The conditions of the location of the deployed radio link passing through the forest are described. For comparison, a simulation of the forest environment was carried out using a flat-layered model, on the basis of which one can speak of a good qualitative agreement of the results. The proposed technique allows for a preliminary assessment in the design of antenna systems for different purposes.
