Abstract

Telecommuting Trailed During COVID-19 Pandemic In order to make telecommuting the new normal, it is essential not only to change the legal system and employment contracts, but also to reform organizational processes. This paper focuses on "perceived autonomy" in organizational processes. Prior research has demonstrated a positive correlation between telecommuting and perceived autonomy, but it has been difficult to determine what specific factors affect autonomy based on the measurement scale of the questionnaire alone. In this paper, therefore, we conduct a survey of attitudes through unstructured interviews to elucidate the mechanism. To this end, this paper is organized as follows: (1) to review previous studies on telecommuting and identify the advantages and disadvantages of telecommuting that have been identified; (2) to examine changes in the environment and attitudes of telecommuters based on interviews conducted with employed telecommuters; and (3) Examine changes in telecommuters' attitudes toward autonomy.
