The proposed protocol will have a backlogged sensor, which has the buffered event data to be transmitted to the adjacent coronas from the event to the sink. This transmission is done using proper relay selection algorithm through which unnecessary wastage of power can be reduced. Abstract

Wireless sensor networks(WSN) has got its unique features in all remote applications. Since it is operated in remote areas power consumption is the key issue. For a WSN the sensors are usually battery powered which are usually operated in Medium Access control layer. Organizing the WSN into different coronas in which the sink is centered is a simple technique to reduce the power consumption.
