Diabetes Dyslipidaemia: A Review

Abstract

Diabetes is among the top 10 causes of death along with cardiovascular disease (CVD), respiratory disease, and cancer, making it one of the biggest global health emergencies. India forefronts the world with the highest number of diabetic patients and is usually referred to as the diabetes capital of the world. Diabetic dyslipidaemia in India is one of the main causes of mortality in coronary artery disease (CAD) patients. In India, although diabetes continues to be a major lifestyle condition, still there is a lack of studies on whether dyslipidaemia in Indian diabetics is being adequately controlled. With this review article, we aim to provide critical insights into diabetes dyslipidaemia in India.
