Abstract

This paper investigates the use of energy measurements to improve the localization accuracy in terms of range and bearing in a TDOA based system. We first extend the hybrid energy and TDOA localization algorithm in Cartesian coordinate that is proposed in (Ho and Sun, 2008) to obtain the range and bearing estimates of an emitting source.
