Then, we analyzed the challenges and plans of thermal power decommissioning. Besides, the basic principles and development prospects of carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) technologies and transformation of thermal power are summarized. Abstract

With the increasing prominence of the world’s climate problems, low-carbon development has become the consensus of all countries in the world. The low-carbon transformation of the power system will be one of the best ways for China to achieve the goal of carbon peak and carbon neutrality. Firstly, based on the perspective of the power supply side on the power system, we reviewed the problem and solution of developing new energy. Then, we analyzed the challenges and plans of thermal power decommissioning. Besides, the basic principles and development prospects of carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) technologies and transformation of thermal power are summarized. Finally, we provide some advices for China to realize the low-carbon development of energy.
