Abstract

According to the World Bank, over 736 million people worldwide live on less than $1.90 USD per day. This is a heartbreaking statistic. It demands a call to action. How should this issue be addressed? There are many answers. These ideas include giving all extra income to poor countries. Another approach is more lenient. It involves wealthier individuals giving money to this cause when they want to. This paper argues for a compromise between these two extremes. Specifically, it emphasizes targeted monetary distribution to reputable organizations that maximize positive impact on the people who need it most.
