Abstract
A rapid scanning spectrometer with a rotating grating which was directly driven by a synchronous motor was applied to a study on behaviors of Mn atoms and ions in an Ar-He capacitively coupled microwave plasma used for atomic emission spectrometry. A wave length range from 200 to 800 nm (the first order) were scanned within 0.2 sec during a rotation of the grating (30 rpm). Two atomic emission lines and two ionic ones of Mn were observed to estimate excitation temperatures, degree of ionization and total number of atoms and ions. These parameters notably changed in magnitude with plasma gas composition and concentration of Li or Na as a matrix.
