Enabling & disabling of CPUs in a multiprocessor can also effect in reduction of the power consumption. This paper proposed a power saving algorithm of CPU frequency scaling along with enabling & disabling of number of CPUs based on its utilization or Workload. Here both frequency scaling and enabling & disabling of number of CPUs are combined together. The proposed algorithm is implemented in Linux based environment.
