Uniform User Interface Design for PC and TV Convergence Environment in GridMedia+ IPTV Platform

Abstract

Along with the growth of abundant Internet services, more and more users access multimedia contents through TV and mobile devices instead of PC terminals. In this paper, we design a uniform IPTV interface used in PC and TV convergence environment, which not only gives users uniform experience but also reduces their efforts to learn the usage. Benefited from our comprehensive analysis of the uniform interface, it is feasible to use the architecture of this proposed interface in other convergence environments. Using the proposed interface, we have implemented an IPTV platform named GridMedia+, which features VOD, Live, Record, and Local File Upload.
