Abstract

The core of the work are considerations related to the issues of modelling and processing of image information obtained from optical sensors for the purpose of designing and testing the algorithms intended for terrain-aided navigation applications. The article presents proprietary simulation software designed to generate various data sets in the form of a realistic digital terrain map. In order to demonstrate the advantages and disadvantages of the proposed solution, exemplary tests of the selected digital image matching methods were conducted and the results obtained were assessed.
