Abstract

This work presents a compact design for a reconfigurable filtenna with three operation modes: ultra-wideband (from 690 MHz to 6 GHz), 3.5 GHz (from 3.3 to 3.76 GHz) and 700 MHz (from 709 to 773 MHz). These bandwidths have large applications on 5G sub-6 GHz. The structure is built on a FR4 substrate using a bio-inspired antenna and filters based on fractal and defected ground structure (DGS). The filtenna was designed and simulated, showing relatively good result for the proposed operation.
