A direct method of data exchange between XML and relational database

Abstract

There is a great need of data exchange between XML and RDB (relational database) in many Web services and applications, which is implemented by XSLT currently, using a flat XML document as an intermediary and describing the transformation by XSLT. This process is indirect and low-performance, especially dealing with complex structure or massive data.
