Abstract
This paper describes the development of a power measuring device (smart meter) capable of identifying the instantaneous running household loads and measurement of basic electric parameters. This real time basis load identification facility is exploited to estimate the load respective tariff for different Time-of-Use (TOU) of electricity for both the consumer and utility ends.
