Evaluasi Kualitas Eksterior Telur Tetas pada Parent Stock Ayam Broiler Strain Cobb dan Ross di PT. Charoen Pokphand Jaya Farm Unit Purwakarta

Abstract

The research entitled “Evaluation of Hatching Eggs Exterior Quality on Strain Cobb And Ross Broiler Parent Stock at PT. Charoen Pokphand Jaya Farm Unit Purwakarta,“ was held in August-October 2019. The research was conducted to determine the exterior quality of hatching eggs of broiler parent stock strain Cobb and Ross. The eggs used are produced from strain Cobb 2,121 eggs and strain Ross 2,673 eggs. The research using descriptive methods and sampling by simple random sampling method. The observed variables include egg weight and shape index (length and width). The result showed that average egg weight of strain Cobb and Ross 69.48 g and 65.58, shape index 76.00 and 77.63 respectively. Strain effected exterior quality of hatching eggs. Strain Cobb had a higher egg weight than Ross but lower for shape index. Strain Cobb had a dominant oval shape index, while the dominant strain Ross shape index shape is rounded.
