Abstract
A compact, high-power, all-fiber superfluorescent source of broad band radiation near 1.5 /spl mu/m was demonstrated. Source bandwidth and wavelength stability make it suitable for fiber-optic gyroscope applications. Further source optimization and characterization will be discussed.
