Adaptation to nonstationary environments - learning and evolution

Abstract

The Evolutionary Intelligent Agent (EIA) concept merges the Intelligent Agent and the Evolutionary approaches. EIAs are Intelligent Agents provided with a genotype that controls their structure and functionality and determines their capability to carry out various tasks. EIAs can adapt efficiently to the environment by using synergistically learning and evolution. Thus, EIAs can address problems of adaptation to nonstationary real-life complex and non-predictable environments as worldwide computer networks or learner adaptable teaching systems.
