Findings on Cost of Living, Wages and Purchasing Power for Ordinary Residents

Abstract

This section provides an overview of the latest Asia Competitiveness Institute’s (ACI’s) Cost of Living Ranking for Ordinary Residents, Wages Ranking for Ordinary Residents and Purchasing Power Ranking for Ordinary Residents in 103 world’s major cities. The most up-to-date rankings are based on 2014 data, which were the latest available at the time the research was conducted. We first describe the 25 top-ranked cities and 25 bottom-ranked cities. This is followed by a discussion highlighting notable region-specific observations about the rankings.
