Abstract

Summary As multi-source towed streamer acquisition evolves to derive even greater value in terms of efficiency, data quality and HSE performance, there remains has been reluctance to embrace the technology in salt basins. This is due largely to concerns over its suitability to image deep, sub-salt targets. We document the results of a test performed in the Santos Basin Pre-salt, offshore Brazil, with a view to addressing these concerns.
