Abstract

The paper deals with chemical anti-icing and de-icing fluids applied to runway and aircraft surfaces to prevent frost and remove the existing layer of ice. It focuses on the physical properties of these chemicals and the way they are applied. The impact of these substances on the structure of the brakes, the structure of the airport pavement and the environment is the result of the research carried out by the authors. Based on this research authors shoved that de-icing chemical substances applied on airside pavements and airfield areas have a negative influence, cause deterioration of these areas and aircraft components.
