Особенностью музыкальной культуры Казани - центра культуры и просвещения большого полиэтнического региона Среднего Поволжья - является сочетание европейских и татарских традиций. В рассматриваемый в статье период XIX- начала XX веков в Казани утверждаются западные формы музыкальной жизни и образования.
