Very less work in this area was carried out in the past with respect to various noise related issues. In this paper a detailed study on noise parameters in the Gilbert mixer cell are discussed and a simplified mixer cell is proposed which is suitable for ultra-wide (UWB) applications. The obtained noise figure is less when compared with previous works.
