Abstract
The paper analyzes a case study on the efficiency of reuse of braking energy for electric public transport equipped with a mobile energy storage system depending on the efficiencies of the drive inverter and the DC/DC converter. Firstly, the simulations of the braking energy accumulation process were carried, followed by simulations of the process of reuse of previously stored energy. Losses in the accumulation process and losses during reuse were deducted from the full braking energy. Simulations of both new and used energy storage systems were carried to study also the effects of aging.
