Towards an Understanding of Peer Rationality and Collective Intelligence

Abstract

We re-examine the concept of peer autonomy from an agent-oriented perspective and identify rational behaviours that can be embedded within complex P2P networks. Emergent behaviour is considered in relation to the environmental conditions presented by P2P networks, and we propose a classification of social characteristics that facilitate the mapping and subsequent exchange of peer experiences between nodes.
