Abstract

The intentional replantation is a last resort treatment for teeth that cannot be saved through other methods or techniques, prioritizing this way the desire and expectations of the patient to maintain their original teeth. The treatment consists in extracting the tooth and treating it outside the oral cavity, reinserting it in the alveolus afterwards, the result is the filling of the root canal, the tip of the root, or both. The intentional replantation is considered as a last resort treatment because of the wide success rate reported in the literature, and the absence of an established protocol. In the described clinical case, the intentional replantation is applied in a 43-years old woman who was forwarded to the Endodontics master degree’s clinic, from the European University of Madrid for a one year monitoring.
