Abstract
In this paper, a new approach is proposed to find location and tracking using RFID technique based on Received Signal Strength Indication (RSSI) in University of Mosul. Three proposed approaches (3-BS's, 5-BS's and 7-BS's) are simulated using Three propagation models and the rms-error calculated for each model. It is found that the rms-error is reduced by increasing the number of base stations. Using 7-BS's approach the rms-error is reduced by 89.11 % when compared with 3-BS's approach in macro model, and reduced by 58.39 % in long-distance model, while reduced by 56.6 % in OH model. The simulation is applied on University of Mosul, this approach will enable the security officer to track and monitor any tagged object or person lies in university campus.
